Assistant Portfolio Manager – ETF & Index Tracking

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Portfolio Manager to join Lunate Technologies’ Public Markets division in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on managing and optimising index‑tracking portfolios, particularly ETFs, ensuring accurate replication, low tracking error and efficient rebalancing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage index‑tracking portfolios and ETFs in line with index methodologies, fund documentation and client mandates.
• Execute and oversee index rebalances, reconstitutions and corporate actions, ensuring timely implementation.
• Monitor tracking error, liquidity, transaction costs and address performance deviations.
• Support daily portfolio oversight including cash management, flows, creations/redemptions and compliance monitoring.
• Coordinate with trading, operations, risk and external service providers for efficient implementation.
• Lead front‑office system development and process improvement initiatives.
• Conduct ongoing portfolio risk monitoring and prepare performance attribution and diagnostics for investment and risk committees.

Required profile

• Minimum six years of experience in ETF or index portfolio management.
• Strong understanding of index replication, tracking error management and rebalancing processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with trading, operations and risk teams.
• Attention to detail and proactive approach to performance monitoring.
