Associate Accountant - Accounts Payable

About the role

Envision Employment Solutions is recruiting an Associate Accountant for Accounts Payable for one of its partners, a pioneer in development. The role covers the full AP cycle: vendor invoices, reconciliations, payments, statutory tax documentation and month-end closing, in line with company policies and regulations. It is based in El Sheikh Zayed City.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare vendor supporting documents twice a month (on the 9th and 24th) and record invoices daily in the accounting system (e.g. Xero)
• Carry out three-way matching (PO / GRN / Invoice), check invoice completeness, approvals and duplicates
• Support timely payment of tax and government dues, and prepare Forms 41, 46, 47 and the VAT report by statutory deadlines
• Reconcile vendor statements, verify vendor master data and clear outstanding balances
• Support ad-hoc reports, AP reports for management, the monthly AP aging report and projected payments, and ensure accruals and reversals are entered correctly
• Maintain accurate records for audits and follow local accounting regulations
• Flag process improvements and help implement best practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, general accounting or a similar role, preferably in a project-based, construction, real estate or services environment
• Adaptable, reliable and able to meet basic quality standards
• Cooperative, clear communicator who builds good relationships with vendors and colleagues

Required skills

• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and statutory tax and VAT filing procedures
• Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems such as Xero is preferred
