Associate Director, Indirect Tax

About the role

Andersen UAE is seeking an Associate Director to lead its Indirect Tax practice. You will manage a high‑performing team, advise clients on VAT, excise and customs matters, and drive business growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of tax professionals, ensuring effective delegation and resource management.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for indirect tax issues.
• Identify new business opportunities, develop proposals and meet revenue targets, including AR and collection responsibilities.
• Oversee technical review of tax compliance and advisory work, ensuring alignment with UAE regulations and international standards.
• Represent Andersen UAE at industry events, create thought‑leadership content and promote the firm’s brand.
• Stay current with tax law changes, share insights internally and contribute to tax AI and e‑invoicing initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading tax teams and delivering high‑quality indirect tax advice.
• Strong client‑facing skills with a track record of business development.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage complex tax projects and meet revenue objectives.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of VAT, excise and customs regulations in the UAE.
• Experience with tax compliance, advisory and technical review processes.
• Public speaking and content creation for industry events and publications.
