Carpenter – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join the hotel engineering team at our Luxury Collection property in Dubai. The role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting overall facility upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and ensure thorough cleanup after work.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, and other guestroom items.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and communicate daily activities to the next shift.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, carpentry, painting, or hotel engineering.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to lift up to 50 lb and work at heights.

Required skills

• Carpentry and finish work.
• Painting and surface preparation.
• Basic plumbing (toilet plunging, drain clearing).
• Basic electrical (lamp, switch, outlet replacement).
• HVAC filter replacement and air‑handler scheduling.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
• Use of computer systems for maintenance scheduling.
