Casualty Underwriter – UAE National Only

About the role

AIG is looking for a UAE‑national Casualty Underwriter to join its Dubai team. You will support the underwriting of liability products, work closely with brokers and business development managers, and help drive profitable growth across the GCC market.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new business and renewal contracts for liability products sourced through brokers, direct clients and business development managers.
• Maintain underwriting principles in line with corporate guidelines and profit targets.
• Develop and nurture strategic relationships with producers, especially in Saudi Arabia and other GCC markets.
• Provide sound underwriting decisions, price risks appropriately, and monitor loss ratios.
• Identify and address poor‑performing accounts and support broker/client relationship management.
• Generate new business from existing producers and up‑sell current accounts.
• Adhere to underwriting authority and guidelines as referenced on the AIG Casualty intranet.
• Handle process‑oriented tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of casualty underwriting principles and corporate guidelines.
• Ability to develop strategic relationships with producers in GCC markets.
• Analytical mindset to assess risk, price appropriately and monitor loss ratios.
• Flexibility and sound judgment in underwriting decisions.
• Proactive approach to identifying under‑performing accounts and improving profitability.
