Category Buyer – Emirati Nationals

About the role

Thales is seeking an Emirati national to join its Abu Dhabi team as a Category Buyer. The role supports one or several procurement categories, working closely with Global and Regional Category Managers to drive sourcing competitiveness and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage RFI/RFP processes up to PVet 4/5, ensuring competitive supplier selection.
• Provide operational support to Business Areas to guarantee accurate purchase order creation.
• Conduct market surveys, monitor key players, newcomers, economic trends, regulatory changes, and technological innovations.
• Deliver insights on how products or projects can become more competitive through alternative suppliers or methodologies.
• Maintain governance using KPIs and corrective actions, and manage relationships with the approved supplier panel.

Required profile

• UAE national with at least 3 years of procurement or sourcing experience.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work collaboratively across global and regional teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
