Category Manager – Mobile Fleet & OEM (6‑Month Contract, Dubai)

About the role

Our client, a leading EPCM consulting firm, is seeking a Category Manager for Mobile Fleet & OEM to lead the commercial strategy, negotiation and post‑award management of OEM agreements for mobile fleet and heavy equipment. This is a 6‑month fixed‑term contract based in Dubai, with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, obtain approval for, and maintain category strategies covering OEM equipment supply, parts, labour and service agreements.
• Define sourcing positions (MARC vs transactional, dealer vs factory‑direct, single vs multiple source) and manage a rolling 24‑month contract pipeline aligned with fleet replacement plans.
• Conduct total‑cost‑of‑ownership and cost‑per‑operating‑hour analyses to support sourcing recommendations.
• Lead negotiations on new agreements, renewals, extensions and variations, covering price escalation, fixed‑price parts baskets, exchange‑rate and freight risk, lead‑time commitments, warranty and reliability guarantees.
• Secure working‑capital improvements such as consignment, vendor‑managed inventory and extended payment terms.
• Prepare recommendation‑to‑award papers, evaluation reports and secure approvals in line with Delegation of Authority.
• Manage post‑award lifecycle: performance regimes, KPI reporting, rate reviews, price adjustments, claims and variations.
• Initiate renewal or retender activities at least six months before contract expiry.

Required profile

• Proven experience in category or procurement management for mobile fleet, heavy equipment or OEM contracts.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills and ability to structure complex agreements.
• Knowledge of total‑cost‑of‑ownership analysis and cost‑per‑operating‑hour metrics.
• Familiarity with EPCM project environments and fleet replacement planning.
