Senior Facilities Management Engineer (Freelance)

About the role

The Senior Facilities Management Engineer will maintain the Coca-Cola Arena and its ancillary facilities as a premier, high‑performance venue. This freelance role oversees hard and soft services, strategic capital projects, and comprehensive asset management to ensure operational readiness, minimise downtime and uphold safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all hard and soft FM services, including event‑day operations, and manage daily maintenance such as cleaning, waste management and MEP works to meet SLAs.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules, conduct proactive inspections and manage facility projects from conception to completion within budget and schedule.
• Monitor energy consumption, drive efficiency initiatives (e.g., HVAC optimisation) and adopt best practices to improve overall facility performance.
• Partner with internal teams (e.g., F&B), evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, manage the maintenance budget with accurate forecasting and stay current with industry trends.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with full knowledge of HSE and facilities management (MEP, civil and soft services).
• Minimum 5‑8 years of experience in a similar senior FM role, preferably in the UAE event industry, with expert‑level knowledge of both hard and soft services.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder management, presentation abilities and the capacity to work unsupervised in a multicultural environment.
