Charge Nurse – Tower B-10 (Royal Suite)

About the role

The Charge Nurse for Tower B‑10 Royal Suite is responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth patient flow within the unit. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the role combines clinical expertise with administrative coordination to maintain high standards of patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules, assignments and patient care activities for the nursing team.
• Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, coaching and support during the shift.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
• Oversee the efficient use of human resources, consumables and equipment.
• Administer medications and collaborate with pharmacy to meet unit medication needs.
• Lead clinical handovers, attend patient care rounds and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Facilitate communication between patients, families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with emergency response according to hospital policies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated competence in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Ability to work with a diverse multidisciplinary workforce.
• Strong ethical conduct and commitment to the mission, vision and values of SSMC.
• Experience in supervising support staff according to training level and patient acuity.
