Chemistry Teacher – Immediate or Jan 2027

About the role

Universal American School of Dubai is seeking an enthusiastic Chemistry teacher to join its faculty in September 2026 or January 2027. The role involves delivering the US‑based curriculum through inquiry‑based, concept‑driven lessons that prepare students for AP, IB and other advanced pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons aligned with New York State Standards and the school’s inquiry‑based approach.
• Prepare and manage laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning plans.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the science department and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
• Participate in professional development activities and school community events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed., M.Ed., PGCE/PGDE or equivalent).
• Minimum two years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
• Strong understanding of inquiry‑based, standards‑based pedagogy.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents and staff.

Required skills

• Deep Chemistry subject knowledge.
• Proficiency in laboratory safety procedures and equipment handling.
