Clinical Resource Nurse – Nursing Education

About the role

The Clinical Resource Nurse – Nursing Education is responsible for developing and maintaining a competency‑based continuing education programme that supports nurses across all specialty areas, driving improvement in clinical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assess educational needs and design targeted programmes for nursing staff.
• Evaluate clinical education programmes systematically to ensure alignment with departmental and organisational goals.
• Develop measurable performance criteria to assess nurses’ competence.
• Collaborate with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate educational initiatives.
• Provide specialty‑specific orientation and bedside clinical consultations.
• Lead implementation of evidence‑based practice and participate in research activities.
• Engage in health promotion activities within the organisation and community.
• Manage information technology tools for accessing, transmitting and producing educational information.
• Maintain accurate records of educational activities and report outcomes.
• Monitor staff performance, give feedback, and support continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of post‑qualification clinical experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
• Positive written references confirming responsibilities as a clinical resource nurse.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or equivalent) and registration as a Registered Nurse in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia, with a current national licence.
• Current BLS certification; MSc in nursing education is desirable.
• At least 1 year of experience in an educator role is preferred.
