Specialist Physician - Family Medicine

About the role

The Specialist Physician – Family Medicine will deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care within SEHA Clinics in Abu Dhabi. Working under the supervision of a Consultant Physician, the role also involves mentoring junior medical staff and contributing to clinical excellence in the division.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards, documenting all clinical information promptly.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and ensure appropriate follow‑up care.
• Supervise and train junior medical staff, sharing responsibility for the care they provide.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, liaise with other specialties, and coordinate referrals.
• Support out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Comply with hospital policies on admissions, consultations, surgical procedures, discharge and outpatient practices.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits and incident reporting.
• Promote and engage in clinical research, publications and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Board‑certified in Family Medicine.
• Tier 1: No additional experience required post‑board certification.
• Tier 2: Minimum 2 years clinical experience post‑qualification in an internationally accredited institute (or UAE nationals with no additional experience).
• Tier 3: Minimum 3 years experience as a Specialist post‑qualification in an internationally accredited institute.
