Cluster Director of Engineering

About the role

The Cluster Director of Engineering will lead engineering, maintenance and asset management across two Accor hotels, ensuring operational excellence, safety and guest comfort. You will be the senior technical advisor to the Cluster GM and own the strategic direction of all building infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee integrity and performance of critical infrastructure including foundations, structure, MEP systems, chillers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water, lifts and life‑safety systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, long‑term asset replacement plans and CAPEX business cases.
• Lead major projects, renovations and technical upgrades from concept through execution and handover.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, fire and life‑safety standards, brand standards and engineering legislation.
• Drive energy, water and utility optimisation, sustainability initiatives and ESG targets.
• Manage engineering budgets, OPEX/CAPEX, contractor performance and strategic supplier relationships.
• Lead, develop and engage engineering teams across both hotels, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of engineering experience in upscale hospitality or large‑scale properties, with 3–5 years in senior technical leadership.
• Proven experience managing hotel building infrastructure, MEP systems, chillers/HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life‑safety systems.
• Strong knowledge of UAE/local authority regulations, civil defence and HSE requirements.
• Professional engineering certification or membership is preferred.
