Commis Chef – Butchery (Full‑Time) – Dubai

About the role

Calo is expanding its kitchen team in Dubai and is looking for a motivated Commis Chef to support the butchery and meal‑preparation operations. Working under senior chefs, you will help ensure that meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and to the high quality standards expected by our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor kitchen equipment and promptly report any issues.
• Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients, sauces, and seasonings for a variety of dishes.
• Assist in plating meals under the supervision of the Chef de Partie.
• Check inventory levels, request replenishment, and dispose of spoiled items according to sanitation rules.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with food‑safety regulations.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar hospitality/catering role.
• Currently residing in the UAE.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Experience in a food‑manufacturing facility is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic culinary techniques for ingredient preparation and plating.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
• Understanding of inventory management and sanitation standards.
