Commissioning Superintendent – I&C

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Commissioning Superintendent I&C to lead on‑site commissioning activities for a large‑scale EPC project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves coordinating with licensors, vendors, and the senior commissioning manager to ensure successful start‑up of gas and condensate processing facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with licensors and vendors to monitor commissioning activities according to prescribed procedures.
• Oversee progress of commissioning for sales gas and condensate areas.
• Review pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures and manuals issued by EPC contractors or vendors.
• Verify mechanical completion certificates for various systems and subsystems.
• Participate in commissioning and troubleshooting meetings to resolve obstacles.
• Confirm readiness of systems/subsystems for MC and RFSU certificate issuance.
• Monitor and approve punch‑list close‑out in the assigned area, ensuring compliance with contractual documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 18 years of experience in commissioning/operation readiness, preferably in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in a similar role on oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
• Experience with sour‑gas, hydrogen production, or hydro‑desulfurization commissioning is preferred.
• Proven ability to work with licensors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams on large‑scale EPC projects.
