Community Management Intern

About the role

#ABtalks is an interview show with tens of millions of views across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, now launching #ABtalks+, a paid membership offering exclusive content and a community of like-minded people. This is a 3-month, full-time, unpaid, onsite internship in Dubai, starting at the very beginning of the project. You will be the guardian of the member experience, running the Discord community day to day and sharing #ABtalks+ on social media.

Key responsibilities

• Member experience: welcome and onboard members, answer their questions, spot and report friction points, collect and analyse feedback, and suggest improvements
• Discord management: set up and maintain channels, roles, rules and bots; moderate conversations; flag urgent situations; track activity and engagement
• Community animation: keep the community active with conversations and prompts, host events, highlight members and encourage them to start conversations
• Social media and content: publish stories, reels and posts on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, write captions in English and Arabic, create simple posts and visuals, and help proofread Arabic content

Required profile

• Studying or recently graduated in Communications, Marketing, Media or a related field
• Fluent in English and Arabic, written and spoken (a must)
• Warm, patient and people-oriented, organised and reliable, trustworthy and discreet with sensitive member interactions

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Discord
• Basic content skills such as Canva or similar and simple video edits
• Nice to have: experience with Discord or moderating an online community, basic knowledge of community analytics and survey tools, familiarity with #ABtalks
