Compliance Specialist

About the role

Binance is seeking a Compliance Specialist to lead AML/CFT, sanctions and financial‑crime investigations within its Dubai operations. You will act as the escalation point for complex cases, support regulatory licensing, and collaborate closely with law‑enforcement and UAE authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct AML/CFT, sanctions and financial‑crime investigations and serve as escalation point for complex cases.
• Draft and submit SARs to the relevant Financial Intelligence Unit on behalf of the MLRO.
• Upload, track and manage Law Enforcement Requests (LERs) through internal systems.
• Support licensing applications, renewals and regulatory engagements with VARA, CBUAE and FSRA.
• Perform internal investigations into suspicious activity, account anomalies and policy breaches.
• Design, implement and maintain an internal case‑management framework, including governance, controls, testing and reporting standards.
• Conduct KYC, CDD and EDD reviews for retail and corporate clients, including high‑risk onboarding.
• Review blockchain‑analytics findings and crypto‑to‑fiat transaction monitoring alerts.
• Establish SOPs and drive quality‑assurance standards across compliance investigations.
• Liaise with law‑enforcement and regulatory authorities regarding production orders and information requests.
• Support the MLRO and senior compliance leadership on ad‑hoc projects and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in AML/CFT compliance, financial‑crime investigations or KYC/EDD within a financial institution, crypto exchange or regulated fintech.
• Proven hands‑on experience drafting and submitting STRs/SARs to FIUs.
• Experience supporting licensing applications and liaising with UAE regulatory authorities.
• Demonstrated ability to establish SOPs and develop internal controls and risk‑management frameworks.
• Familiarity with law‑enforcement engagement, including handling production orders and information requests.
• Strong analytical and investigative capabilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
