Computer Science Teacher – August 2026

About the role

GEMS World Academy in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Computer Science Teacher to join its inclusive, dynamic learning community from August 2026. The school delivers the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework alongside elements of the British curriculum, offering a globally‑focused education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, inclusive Computer Science lessons for secondary students within IB and British curriculum frameworks.
• Collaborate with subject teachers to design strategies that promote access, progress and achievement for all learners.
• Use data to monitor student progress and plan targeted interventions.
• Foster a positive classroom environment aligned with the IB Learner Profile and GEMS Core Values.
• Contribute to school‑wide inclusive practices and promote equity among students and staff.
• Engage with parents and the wider school community to support holistic student development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a degree plus a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/state licence) with a specialism in Computer Science.
• Advanced qualifications in Computer Science are desirable but not essential.
• Minimum three years of experience teaching secondary Computer Science, preferably within an IB or British curriculum context.
• Strong understanding of the IB philosophy and Approaches to Teaching and Learning.
• Proven ability to inspire, support and challenge students.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and organisational skills.
• Availability to start in August 2026.
