Consultant Brain Injury Medicine (Western Qualified)

About the role

The government hospital in the UAE is looking for a highly experienced Consultant in Brain Injury Medicine who holds Western qualifications. You will lead comprehensive assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with traumatic and acquired brain injuries within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed neurological assessments and develop individualized rehabilitation plans.
• Provide acute, post‑acute and long‑term care for brain‑injured patients.
• Collaborate with physiatrists, neurologists, therapists and nursing staff to optimise functional recovery.
• Lead multidisciplinary case conferences and supervise junior clinicians.
• Monitor and adjust management of cognitive disorders, spasticity and other neurological complications.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with Western Board Certification in Brain Injury Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology or a related specialty.
• Minimum 5 years post‑board experience as a Consultant in Brain Injury Medicine or Neurorehabilitation.
• Eligibility for DHA, DOH or MOH Consultant licence.
• Proven experience in a JCI‑accredited or specialised rehabilitation centre.
• Strong clinical leadership, communication and teamwork abilities.
