Consultant Burns Surgeon – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Burns Surgeon to join our specialist clinical team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves comprehensive surgical and medical management of acute and complex burn injuries, from initial assessment through to rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level assessment and treatment of thermal, chemical, electrical and other burn injuries.
• Perform escharotomy, fasciotomy, burn wound excision, tangential excision, debridement, skin grafting and other reconstructive procedures.
• Lead multidisciplinary care teams, coordinate with ICU, plastic surgery, trauma, anesthesiology, infectious disease, rehabilitation and physiotherapy services.
• Manage acute burn resuscitation, critical care, infection prevention, sepsis, contractures, hypertrophic scarring and functional impairment.
• Develop and implement burn management protocols, clinical pathways and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Participate in teaching, supervision of junior staff and clinical research.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Completed postgraduate training in General Surgery with specialization in Burn Surgery.
• Board certification or equivalent in relevant surgical specialties.
• Minimum of several years’ experience managing complex burn patients in a tertiary centre.
