About the role

A leading UAE healthcare organization is seeking a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon qualified by the South African Board. The role involves delivering high‑quality surgical care for complex cardiac and thoracic conditions within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level cardiothoracic surgical services, both elective and emergency.
• Perform comprehensive pre‑operative assessments and develop individualized surgical plans.
• Manage post‑operative care, monitor recovery, and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, anesthetists, pulmonologists, and other specialists.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical governance, teaching, research, audit and quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognised South African Board qualification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Consultant‑level clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary‑care or teaching hospital.
• Current specialist registration and good professional standing.
• Eligibility for DOH/DHA medical licensing.
