Consultant Neonatology – Tawam Hospital

About the role

The Consultant Neonatology will join Tawam Hospital’s Neonatology Division, providing expert clinical care to newborns and leading a multidisciplinary team. Reporting to the Division Chief, the role combines direct patient management with administrative leadership to ensure high‑quality neonatal services.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital policies, performance management, peer review and utilization review processes.
• Assist the Division Chief with staff scheduling, recruitment and ensuring continuous medical coverage.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, document clinical information promptly and adjust treatment based on investigation results.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives, conduct audits and respond to incident reports.
• Promote education by supervising junior staff, delivering training, supporting CME and participating in research and publications.

Required profile

• Board‑certified in Neonatology.
• Tier 1: Minimum 2 years post‑board consultant experience, or Tier 2: Minimum 8 years full‑time consultant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams and manage departmental initiatives.
• Strong commitment to continuous medical education and research.
