Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon – Government Hospital, Dubai

About the role

A leading government healthcare facility in Dubai is expanding its orthopaedic department and seeks an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. The role involves delivering comprehensive orthopaedic care, from diagnosis to surgical management, within a modern, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions, including trauma, degenerative disorders, and sports injuries.
• Perform elective and emergency orthopaedic surgeries, such as joint replacements, arthroscopy, spine procedures, and trauma operations.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments and provide post‑operative follow‑up and rehabilitation coordination.
• Collaborate closely with radiology, anaesthesia, physiotherapy, and other specialties to ensure integrated patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Support the development and expansion of orthopaedic services within the institution.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedic Surgery (e.g., UK CCT/FRCS, US Board, Australian FRACS, South African specialist).
• Significant post‑specialist clinical and surgical experience, preferably in a hospital or tertiary‑care setting.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills with a patient‑centred approach.
• Sub‑specialty expertise (joint replacement, arthroscopy, sports medicine, spine, trauma, or paediatric orthopaedics) is an advantage.
