Consultant Otolaryngology

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Otolaryngology to lead the diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of ear, nose, throat, head and neck conditions for adult and pediatric patients at SEHA in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of ENT disorders including hearing loss, sinusitis, nasal obstruction, tonsillitis, sleep apnea, vertigo, voice disorders and head‑and‑neck tumours.
• Perform outpatient assessments and surgical procedures such as endoscopic sinus surgery, tonsillectomy, tympanoplasty, septoplasty, neck dissection and microlaryngoscopy.
• Lead operative and peri‑operative care, ensuring optimal recovery and managing complications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (audiology, speech therapy, oncology, paediatrics, internal medicine) to provide holistic patient care.
• Supervise junior doctors, residents and surgical staff and contribute to training programmes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and use SEHA’s electronic health record system.
• Participate in clinical audits, research, morbidity‑mortality reviews and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and residency in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery.
• Board certification in ENT (e.g., American Board, FRCS, Arab Board) and a valid DOH Consultant License or eligibility.
• Minimum five years post‑certification experience as a Consultant ENT surgeon, preferably with adult and paediatric exposure.
