Consultant General Surgeon – UAE – Competitive Salary

About the role

A leading internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its general, laparoscopic and emergency surgical services. The hospital seeks an experienced Consultant General Surgeon to join a multidisciplinary clinical team, delivering high‑quality care to a diverse international patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage elective and emergency general surgery patients.
• Perform open and laparoscopic procedures within the scope of specialty and facility privileges.
• Provide peri‑operative care, complication management, ward rounds and outpatient follow‑up.
• Collaborate with anaesthesia, ICU, radiology, gastroenterology, oncology and emergency teams.
• Contribute to surgical pathways, theatre efficiency, infection prevention and patient‑safety programmes.
• Maintain accurate consent forms, operative notes, discharge summaries and other clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Strong clinical judgement with a commitment to evidence‑based practice and patient safety.
• Excellent communication skills for culturally diverse patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to adapt to UAE healthcare regulations, documentation standards and hospital governance.
