Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist – Dubai

About the role

A leading tertiary‑care hospital in Dubai is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to lead its Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU). The role involves delivering expert critical‑care management for neonates, infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease, both pre‑ and post‑operative, as well as during interventional cardiology procedures and emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical‑care management, including pre‑operative stabilization, post‑operative care, and management of heart failure, arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies.
• Lead daily PCICU rounds, coordinate multidisciplinary care plans, and ensure on‑call coverage for pediatric cardiac emergencies.
• Interpret and manage complex diagnostic data such as echocardiography, hemodynamic studies and advanced imaging.
• Develop and update clinical pathways, protocols and quality‑improvement initiatives, and mentor junior physicians and nursing staff.
• Engage with families, communicate clinical information compassionately, and support long‑term care planning.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Anesthesiology with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care.
• Minimum 8–10 years post‑specialisation experience in a high‑volume cardiac centre, including consultant‑level practice.
• Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Consultant licensure and fluency in English (Arabic advantageous).
