Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified Consultant in Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join a leading tertiary care hospital in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering expert emergency care to infants, children and adolescents with acute medical, surgical or trauma conditions, while upholding the highest standards of patient‑centred practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage paediatric emergency presentations, including medical, surgical and trauma cases.
• Provide immediate stabilisation, advanced resuscitation and emergency procedures such as airway management, intubation, lumbar puncture, sedation and trauma care.
• Collaborate with paediatric subspecialists, intensivists, surgeons and multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff in the emergency department.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in line with DOH regulations and hospital policies.
• Participate in emergency preparedness, disaster response, quality improvement and clinical research initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent degree recognised by the Abu Dhabi DOH.
• Board certification or fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (or Emergency Medicine with paediatric focus).
• Valid DOH consultant licence or eligibility letter for paediatric emergency medicine.
• Minimum 5–7 years post‑board consultant experience in a tertiary paediatric emergency setting.
• Current certification in PALS, ACLS and ATLS (preferred).
• Strong communication, leadership and decision‑making abilities.
