Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist (American Board) – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join our leading eye‑care team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye conditions in children, delivering both medical and surgical care in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive eye care for pediatric patients, including diagnosis and management of cataracts, congenital glaucoma, strabismus, and complex anterior segment disorders.
• Perform surgical procedures such as pediatric cataract extraction, strabismus correction, congenital glaucoma surgery, and advanced anterior segment surgeries.
• Manage amblyopia, developmental eye disorders, and conduct ROP screening and treatment.
• Specialize in the care of patients with uveitis and other ocular inflammatory disorders, including systemic and ocular immunosuppression therapy.
• Collaborate with rheumatology and other specialties in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Participate in teaching, research, and academic activities.

Required profile

• Fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus (and optionally Uveitis/Ocular Immunology).
• Board certification (or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.
• Minimum five years of post‑fellowship clinical experience.
