Consultant Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician

About the role

A leading private hospital in the UAE is looking for a Western‑qualified Consultant in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine to deliver advanced respiratory and intensive care to patients with complex conditions. The role involves direct patient care, multidisciplinary collaboration and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia and interstitial lung disease.
• Provide intensive care for critically ill patients, including management of sepsis, shock and multi‑organ failure.
• Oversee mechanical ventilation, non‑invasive ventilation and complex airway management.
• Perform or supervise bronchoscopy and pleural procedures where trained.
• Coordinate care plans with respiratory, emergency and other specialist teams and ensure accurate clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognised postgraduate specialist training in Pulmonary/Respiratory Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
• Consultant‑level qualification such as UK CCT/CCST, American Board Certification, Canadian Royal College, Irish CSCST or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in managing complex respiratory diseases and critically ill patients, preferably in a tertiary hospital or advanced ICU setting.
