Consultant Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon

About the role

Talentspoc is seeking an experienced Consultant Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon to join its multidisciplinary healthcare team in Dubai. The successful candidate will lead surgical care for a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions, ensuring high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients requiring gastrointestinal surgical intervention.
• Perform elective and emergency GI surgeries using open, laparoscopic and other minimally invasive techniques.
• Provide comprehensive pre‑operative evaluation and post‑operative follow‑up.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists and other specialists for holistic care.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, risks and recovery.
• Participate in clinical audits, research projects and quality‑improvement programs.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in line with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Residency in General Surgery and a fellowship in Gastrointestinal Surgery.
• Valid medical license to practice surgery in the UAE.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in gastrointestinal surgical practice.
• Proven expertise in advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork abilities.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
