About the role
A leading multispecialty hospital in Dubai is expanding its Respiratory Medicine and Pulmonary Care services. The Consultant / Specialist Pulmonologist will provide comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases within a modern hospital environment equipped with advanced diagnostics and critical care facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage common and complex respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.
- Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests, spirometry and other respiratory investigations.
- Conduct bronchoscopy and related pulmonary procedures when indicated.
- Manage sleep‑related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, and coordinate sleep study evaluations.
- Provide inpatient consultations for acute respiratory failure and severe pulmonary infections.
- Collaborate with critical care teams, thoracic surgeons, infectious disease and internal medicine specialists.
- Develop personalised treatment plans, patient education programmes and long‑term disease management strategies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in audits, quality improvement and compliance with international guidelines.
Required profile
- Board‑certified or specialist qualification in Pulmonology/Respiratory Medicine.
- Minimum 3 years of post‑specialist clinical experience.
- Experience in both outpatient respiratory clinics and inpatient consultations.
- Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team within a hospital setting.
Required skills
- Pulmonary function testing (PFTs) and spirometry interpretation.
- Bronchoscopy and related procedural skills.
- Sleep study evaluation and management of obstructive sleep apnea.
- Management of critical care ventilation and acute respiratory failure.
- Clinical management of interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension.
