Consultant Sports Medicine – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Sports Medicine Physician to join our multidisciplinary sports medicine service in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering comprehensive medical care to professional, elite and recreational athletes, focusing on injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and safe return to sport.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sports medicine assessments, diagnose and manage acute and chronic sports‑related injuries.
• Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans and conduct pre‑participation medical assessments.
• Guide athletes on injury prevention, training loads and overall health.
• Coordinate return‑to‑play and return‑to‑training programs in collaboration with physiotherapists, orthopedic surgeons, sports scientists, strength and conditioning coaches, nutritionists and other specialists.
• Manage concussion assessments and follow recognized clinical guidelines.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, contribute to clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
• Educate athletes, coaches and healthcare professionals on sports health and injury prevention.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with UAE healthcare regulations.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Post‑graduate training in Sports Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Orthopedics or a related specialty.
• Board certification or specialist qualification in the relevant field.
• Valid Department of Health (DoH) Abu Dhabi Consultant license or eligibility.
• Significant post‑specialist experience managing athletes.
