Credit Manager Underwriting Mortgages

About the role

The Credit Manager – Underwriting – Mortgages is a key member of the Personal Banking Credit team at First Abu Dhabi Bank. The role is responsible for assessing new credit proposals and extensions for mortgage facilities, ensuring compliance with bank policies and Central Bank regulations while supporting UAE branches and the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse clients’ financial statements, bank statements and audited accounts to evaluate creditworthiness for mortgage loans.
• Prepare and review credit proposals, highlighting risks, mitigants and ensuring documentation is complete for approval by delegated authorities.
• Manage exception reports and deferred security documents, maintaining timelines and standards.
• Produce accurate productivity and performance reports for the reporting manager.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements, external reporting obligations and Central Bank regulations.
• Set and monitor performance goals, identify training needs and pursue professional development.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues across units and uphold professional standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit underwriting and mortgage loan review.
• Strong analytical ability to assess financial data and credit risk.
• Knowledge of banking policies, audit standards and Central Bank regulations.
• Ability to prepare clear credit documentation and reports.
• Commitment to high standards of professionalism and continuous learning.
