Data Engineer Internship – Cloud & ETL Projects

About the role

The Data Engineer internship offers hands‑on experience across the full data lifecycle, from raw data integration to advanced modelling and visualisation. You will build both batch and real‑time pipelines in a modern cloud‑based data warehousing environment and collaborate with multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate raw data from primary and third‑party systems.
• Model data warehouses for operational and application layers.
• Develop and optimise queries in Amazon Redshift.
• Design and implement ETL processes using Matillion.
• Create data products that enable data‑driven features.
• Maintain data quality, system stability and security.
• Apply coding standards in SQL and Python.
• Build dashboards and visualisations in Periscope Data with a focus on usability.
• Collaborate with product, technology, marketing, finance and other departments.
• Contribute to a strong team culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or a related quantitative field.
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data models.
• Familiarity with Linux terminal operations and workflows.
• Ability to communicate insights to non‑technical audiences.
• Strong SQL skills across cloud data‑warehousing platforms (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, Vertica).
• Attention to detail and analytical thinking.
