Datacenter Solution Engineer – Installation & Support

About the role

Supermicro is seeking a Datacenter Solution Engineer to join its Global Service Installation Team. You will work on installing, configuring, and supporting server, storage, and networking equipment for enterprise customers, primarily in data centre environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical installation, rack‑and‑stack, and cabling of data centre hardware.
• Assist with implementation of server, storage and network equipment.
• Coordinate with engineering to ensure seamless hardware integration.
• Conduct quality checks and functional testing after installation.
• Provide first‑line technical support via phone, email and ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues to higher‑level support teams when needed.
• Travel internationally and locally to customer sites, including occasional weekend work.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience servicing complex X86 systems in a datacenter environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and customer‑facing communication skills.

Required skills

• X86 architecture and server hardware.
• Installation and configuration of storage solutions.
• Network equipment setup and copper/fiber‑optic cabling.
• Rack‑and‑stack procedures for data centre hardware.
