Design Manager – Hospitality Projects

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking a dynamic Design Manager to lead innovative design solutions for hospitality real‑estate projects in Dubai. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences while maximising asset value across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage multi‑disciplinary design teams throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring hospitality‑specific design standards are met.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, consultants, contractors and hospitality operators to align design solutions with operational needs and quality expectations.
• Develop and implement design strategies that are buildable, compliant, innovative, cost‑effective and enhance the guest experience.
• Oversee external design consultants and coordinate activities across civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural and hospitality‑specific disciplines.
• Conduct design reviews to verify technical accuracy, operational efficiency and adherence to industry standards.
• Facilitate communication between technical, operational, maintenance and strategic stakeholders, presenting design reports to senior management.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and apply mitigation measures to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.
• Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, international hospitality standards and client specifications.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing design teams on hospitality or real‑estate projects.
• Strong understanding of hospitality design requirements, guest experience considerations and asset value optimisation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across disciplines.
• Excellent problem‑solving and risk‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Design coordination across civil, mechanical, electrical and architectural disciplines.
• Knowledge of hospitality‑specific design elements such as F&B spaces, guest room layouts and public areas.
