Director – Computing Services Department

About the role

The Director of Computing Services leads a team of around 50 IT professionals at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi. The role is strategic, ensuring that the university’s technology infrastructure supports its educational, research and administrative objectives, especially with the opening of a new state‑of‑the‑art campus.

Key responsibilities

• Provide innovative IT resources and services that align with the university’s goals while maximizing cost‑effectiveness.
• Lead the development of technological solutions for academic and administrative support systems and ongoing data‑management initiatives.
• Ensure proactive technical support for students, staff and faculty.
• Inspire, develop and manage the technology staff to deliver high‑quality, timely IT services and maintain strong customer satisfaction.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and allocate staffing resources to meet objectives.
• Oversee the technology aspects of design, construction and commissioning of new campuses, buildings and facilities.
• Collaborate with the Educational Technology unit to guarantee that infrastructure meets instructional needs.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• At least ten years of progressive experience in higher‑education IT, including five years in management.
• Experience working in a multi‑campus environment with both centralized and decentralized structures.
