Director of Housekeeping

About the role

The Director of Housekeeping will lead all housekeeping, laundry and internal communication centre activities at the luxury Rixos Bab Al Bahr resort, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee housekeeping operations, including laundry and the internal communication centre.
• Ensure all rooms are prepared, inspected and turned down according to standards and guest requests.
• Maintain the appearance of front‑of‑house areas (entrance, lobby) and designated back‑of‑house zones.
• Monitor night‑shift cleaning activities and verify compliance.
• Manage stock levels, approve requisitions and control inventories of linen, uniforms and related items.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and pest‑control services, establishing schedules as needed.
• Implement HACCP procedures and drive sustainable energy‑ and waste‑management initiatives.
• Control costs, propose savings programmes and apply financial procedures.
• Supervise lost‑and‑found processes and handle VIP guest requirements, including personal room inspections.
• Conduct regular inspections with Engineering, follow up on out‑of‑order rooms and liaise with Front Office for maintenance scheduling.
• Set performance targets, monitor staff productivity and ensure proper use of equipment and PMS.
• Lead daily briefings, share activity highlights with the Director of Rooms and act as ambassador for the hotel’s service standards.
