Director of Human Resources – Pre-Opening

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the people strategy for the pre‑opening and launch of Gran Meliá Dubai Jumeirah, a flagship luxury hotel in Dubai. As a strategic partner to the General Manager and Executive Committee, you will shape the cultural foundation and ensure the hotel operates with a high‑performing, engaged workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and implement the HR strategy from pre‑opening through operational launch.
• Partner with senior leadership to align people initiatives with business objectives.
• Build and manage a high‑performing HR team that embodies the Gran Meliá spirit.
• Attract, recruit and onboard talent for all hotel functions.
• Design and deliver learning and development programmes to foster a culture of excellence.
• Oversee compensation, benefits and employee relations in compliance with UAE labour law.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR leader in luxury hospitality, preferably in a pre‑opening environment.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to influence senior management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building inclusive cultures.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
