Editorial Traineeship – TV News & Business Journalism

About the role

This six‑month Editorial Traineeship offers hands‑on experience within CNBC’s editorial and newsroom teams in Abu Dhabi. You will rotate through live broadcast production, newsroom operations, field reporting and digital content creation, working closely with producers, reporters and editors.

Key responsibilities

• Support show production teams in preparing daily news segments and live programming.
• Assist with writing scripts, headlines and show elements for broadcast.
• Research stories, markets, companies and interview guests to support editorial output.
• Transcribe interviews and identify key soundbites for TV and digital platforms.
• Prepare production elements such as video clips, graphics requests and lower‑thirds.
• Collaborate with video editors to cut packages and short‑form digital content.
• Assist with guest coordination and pre‑interview preparation.
• Contribute ideas for segments, features and digital content.
• Support field shoots, special projects and clip highlights for CNBC’s digital and social platforms.

Required profile

• UAE national, graduated from or enrolled in the final year of an Abu Dhabi University.
• Willingness to travel to London and Singapore for two weeks each during the traineeship.
• Recent graduate or final‑year student in journalism, media, business, economics or a related field.
• Strong interest in business news, financial markets and global current affairs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
