Electrical Draughtsman – EPLAN/ELCAD

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Draughtsman specialized in EPLAN/ELCAD to join our electrical engineering team in Dubai. The role involves translating engineering concepts into accurate electrical schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation that meet project and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop General Arrangement (GA), layout, and assembly drawings for control and protection panels, including cubicles and sub‑assemblies.
• Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for sheet‑metal components, mounting plates, sub‑panels and bus‑bar systems with dimensions, tolerances and notes.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, termination drawings and panel layouts using EPLAN/ELCAD based on engineering schematics.
• Generate and maintain device tags, cable schedules, terminal diagrams and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, client specifications and applicable industry codes (IEC, NFPA, etc.).
• Update and revise drawings in line with engineering changes, site feedback and as‑built requirements while maintaining proper version control.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project managers and production teams to convert conceptual designs into manufacturable drawings.
• Optimize component placement and panel layouts for accessibility, maintainability and thermal performance.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into final drawings.

Required profile

• Proven experience preparing electrical schematics and panel drawings with EPLAN or ELCAD.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC and NFPA.
• Ability to work closely with design engineers, project managers and production teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain version control of drawings.
• Experience in creating GA drawings and fabrication documentation for electrical panels.
