Engineering Projects Officer – CAD Specialist

About the role

The Engineering Projects Officer (CAD Specialist) supports the Engineering Projects team in developing aircraft interior specifications, layouts and 3D models for new aircraft acquisitions. The role focuses on Cabin Interior, In‑flight Entertainment and Avionics projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and compile product data, technical specifications and performance data during aircraft specification evaluation.
• Review existing airplane baseline programs and industry trends to adapt data for new aircraft projects.
• Support IT enhancements and workflow development for fleet expansion and data integrity.
• Develop 3D models, floor plans and Layout of Passenger Arrangement (LOPA) using AutoCAD and other CAD tools.
• Create and maintain a digital repository of cabin interior elements and templates.
• Conduct engineering studies, field data collection and produce technical drawings and visual aids.
• Investigate cabin item issues, propose engineering solutions and communicate findings across internal departments.
• Assist Project Engineers in preparing confidential specifications and tender document matrices.

Required profile

• Proven experience using CAD software, preferably AutoCAD, for aircraft interior design.
• Previous experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of 3D modelling tools such as Rhino or Blender is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills for data compilation and engineering studies.
