English Teacher (High School) – August Start

About the role

GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking passionate English teachers to join its American‑curriculum and IB‑continuum school from August 2026. The role involves delivering high‑quality high‑school English instruction within an inclusive, inquiry‑based learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons that promote critical thinking.
• Differentiate instruction to support English Language Learners, gifted and talented students.

• Assess student progress using authentic methods and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning and curriculum development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, state licence or equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching high‑school English, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and support students through purposeful learning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and an inclusive school culture.
