Executive Director

About the role

The Executive Director will lead a nonprofit school dedicated to children with special needs in Abu Dhabi, overseeing daily operations and reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop annual operating, business and fundraising plans in collaboration with the Board.
• Monitor developments in the special‑needs sector and advise the Board on relevant trends.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations, supervise staff, and ensure the safety of students and personnel.
• Oversee financial management in compliance with internal policies and UAE regulations.
• Design and implement fundraising strategies, prepare proposals, and cultivate donor relationships.
• Lead media and communications efforts, including press relations and crisis communication planning.
• Handle recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion and termination of staff and consultants.
• Maintain accurate records (financial, student, health, personnel) and prepare required reports for the Board and donors.

Required profile

• Professional credentials in a field related to special needs and a demonstrated commitment to the sector.
• Minimum 10 years experience in special‑needs facilities, with at least 5 years in senior management.
• Proven track record in fundraising and donor engagement.
• Fluency in English and conversational Arabic.
