Family Medicine Specialist

About the role

M42 Health is seeking a qualified Family Medicine Specialist to deliver comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions while ensuring patient‑centered, evidence‑based care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary care services, including routine health assessments, preventive screenings, and wellness examinations.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and cardiovascular diseases.
• Perform minor medical procedures within granted clinical privileges.
• Promote disease prevention through vaccination programs, health education, and lifestyle counseling.
• Assess mental health concerns and arrange appropriate treatment or referrals.
• Coordinate care with specialists, allied health professionals, and community providers.
• Interpret laboratory, radiology, and diagnostic results to support clinical decisions.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and comply with safety, infection control, and quality standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Completed residency training in Family Medicine.
• Specialist qualification recognized by the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi.
• Eligibility for clinical privileges to practice in Abu Dhabi.

Required skills

• Clinical competence in primary care and chronic disease management.
• Ability to perform minor procedures within scope of practice.
• Proficiency in interpreting laboratory and radiology investigations.
• Strong documentation and regulatory compliance skills.
