Field Service Engineer – Personalisation Systems

About the role

The Field Service Engineer will deploy, validate, optimise and support personalisation systems used for governmental identity documents such as national IDs, driver licences and passports. The role is hands‑on, covering installation, calibration and commissioning of industrial‑grade equipment and the associated IT infrastructure. You will work on TOPPAN Security’s CHROMA solution in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), Customer Acceptance Test (CAT) and User Acceptance Test (UAT), preparing test plans and acceptance criteria.
• Install, configure, commission and deploy personalisation machines and supporting IT hardware.
• Perform calibration, fine‑tuning and optimisation of print quality, mechanical alignment, laser engraving and document transport.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues such as jams, misfeeds, wear and alignment problems.
• Provide on‑site support during live operation, ensure smooth hand‑over to operations, deliver training and ramp‑up assistance.
• Conduct continuous improvement and optimisation of precision mechatronic systems in the field.
• Collaborate with upstream development teams to feed back operational insights.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of technical support experience on governmental secure issuance projects (national ID, driver licence, passport).
• Proven experience with centralized and decentralized personalisation workflows.
• Ability to work independently on site, manage testing phases and deliver robust solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and capacity to train operational staff.
• Good command of English; Arabic optional.
