Explosive Safety Manager

About the role

Edge is seeking an experienced Explosives Safety Manager to act as a senior technical and strategic advisor for explosives and ammunition safety. The role ensures compliance with UAE explosives regulations, licensing and best practices across manufacturing, testing, storage, handling, transportation and demilitarisation.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UAE explosives regulations, internal policies and industry best practices.
• Prepare, review and maintain licences for explosives operating and storage facilities.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for existing operations, plant modifications and new facilities.
• Provide technical guidance on safe manufacturing, handling, transportation, storage and testing of explosive materials.
• Review and approve manufacturing procedures and safe working practices.
• Lead internal compliance audits and investigations of explosives‑related incidents, delivering root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support budget planning, forecasting and cost control for explosives management activities.
• Promote a strong explosives safety culture across operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in explosives or ammunition manufacturing and testing, including ordnance destruction or demilitarisation.
• At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of explosives manufacturing best practices, physical and chemical properties, and associated hazards.
• Understanding of UAE explosives regulations, licensing requirements and international standards.
• Ability to meet medical fitness and security‑clearance requirements.
