Field Service Technician – Downhole Equipment

About the role

Require a field service technician with experience on downhole service equipment such as Torquemasters, Roughnecks, Top Drives, Bucking Units, Power Tongs and Jar Testers. The role involves installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and calibration at customer locations and company facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and perform functional testing of Torquemasters, Jar Testers and Bucking Units.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on customer equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems to minimise downtime.
• Calibrate equipment to meet manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Provide technical support and operator training during equipment installation and service visits.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing and technical support to resolve complex issues.

Required profile

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 4‑6 years of field service or maintenance experience supporting industrial or oilfield equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to obtain required travel documentation.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Torquemasters, Roughnecks, Top Drives, Bucking Units, Power Tongs and Jar Testers.
• Reading and interpreting hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical troubleshooting.
• Use of diagnostic equipment, precision measuring tools and calibration instruments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic service reporting systems.
