Field Technician – IT/AV Service Technician

About the role

Our client, a diversified UAE group with operations across the Gulf, is looking for a Field Technician to provide on‑site IT, audio‑visual and security services for customers in Dubai. The role covers installation, configuration, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of a broad portfolio of technology solutions while ensuring compliance with company procedures, OEM standards, SLAs and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission desktop computers, laptops, workstations, servers, printers, scanners and related peripherals.
• Set up user accounts, permissions, shared folders, printers and network resources.
• Deploy and configure wired and wireless networking equipment, including routers, switches, access points and structured cabling.
• Perform hardware diagnostics, component replacement and operating system/firmware/software updates.
• Install and commission Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) and video‑conferencing equipment; conduct customer demonstrations and user orientation.
• Configure and maintain AV peripherals such as cameras, microphones, speakers, touch panels and presentation systems.
• Install, configure and test IP CCTV surveillance systems, NVR/DVR units and related storage devices.
• Support access‑control installations where required.
• Assist with cybersecurity solutions including endpoint protection, firewall deployment, antivirus, email security and network security devices.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, provide technical recommendations and identify opportunities for service improvement.

Required profile

• Valid UAE driving licence.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites and as part of a project implementation team.
• Strong communication skills and professional customer interaction.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Installation and support of IT infrastructure (desktops, laptops, servers, printers, scanners).
• Networking knowledge – routers, switches, access points, structured cabling.
• Hardware diagnostics and component replacement.
• Operating system, firmware and software patching.
• Audio‑visual solutions – Interactive Flat Panels, video‑conferencing equipment, cameras, microphones, speakers, touch panels.
• IP CCTV installation, NVR/DVR configuration and camera setup.
• Access‑control system installation.
• Cybersecurity basics – endpoint protection, firewalls, antivirus, email security.
