Fire Protection System Draughtsman – AutoCAD Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Fire Protection System Draughtsman to produce accurate fire safety drawings for a variety of projects in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on creating detailed AutoCAD shop drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with local fire codes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed firefighting and fire protection shop drawings using AutoCAD 2D.
• Develop layouts for sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, fire tanks and associated piping.
• Produce general arrangement drawings, sectional details, riser diagrams and schematic drawings.
• Generate as‑built drawings based on site installations and conduct site surveys to update drawings.
• Coordinate fire protection drawings with architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical and plumbing drawings.
• Revise drawings according to consultation comments, site requirements and Civil Defence submission standards.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs and document control.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or design discipline.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection system components and installation practices.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and UAE Civil Defence requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
